Our ambition is to showcase what classic smørrebrød can become when combined with years of experience from top restaurants, expert craftsmanship, the finest ingredients, modern techniques, and bold creative visions.
Danish smørrebrød is deeply rooted in tradition and nostalgia—most people have a special connection to the Danish lunch table. A favorite piece of smørrebrød, a beloved beer, or a particular akvavit that has always been a part of the experience.

PALÆGADE’S DESSERT TROLLEY
At Restaurant Palægade, we take great pride in celebrating Danish culinary traditions, and one aspect we particularly cherish is the art of pastry-making. We believe that a well-crafted dessert is the perfect way to conclude a great lunch.
That’s why we have one of Denmark’s top pastry chefs in our kitchen, creating new, exquisite, and imaginative pastries every single day—a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds.
To showcase this craftsmanship, we have collaborated with skilled carpenters to create a one-of-a-kind dessert trolley, designed specifically to highlight the beautiful creations of our talented pastry chef.
You’ll find Palægade’s Dessert Trolley in the bar area near the entrance, ready to be rolled through the restaurant so guests can see and choose their pastries up close. But be warned—it might be a challenge to pick just one when faced with an array of stunning and delicious pastries.
